California Housing Finance Agency (Cal HFA) has expanded their Homeowner's Assistance Fund to include a PACE lien payoff program.

The program is paying off PACE liens up to $80,000 as long as the homeowner meets the other eligibility requirements as outlined on their website: California Mortgage Relief Program | (camortgagerelief.org). They are currently piloting the program with homeowners with a PACE Assessment authorized by WRCOG who filed a proof of claim in the Renovate America bankruptcy. They have sent out letters to each of the homeowners to let them know of the pilot program and encouraging them to apply. Applicants are asked to verify their eligibility in the online application by providing a copy of the notification letter.
